Flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations – Autumn/Winter 2026

The NHS seasonal vaccination programme is now underway. We strongly recommend that all eligible patients receive their Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations to help protect themselves and those around them during the winter months.

We will be holding vaccination clinics at Berinsfield Health Centre throughout the autumn and winter. Further clinic dates will be announced as they become available.

If you are unable to book online, you can call 119 free of charge to book an appointment. Translation services are available if required.

Who Is Eligible for a Flu Vaccine?

You may be eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination if you are:

  • Aged 65 years or over
  • Aged 6 months to under 65 years with certain long-term health conditions
  • Pregnant
  • A child aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2026
  • A primary or secondary school-aged child (Reception to Year 11)
  • Living in a residential or nursing home
  • A carer or in receipt of Carer’s Allowance
  • Living with someone who has a weakened immune system
  • A frontline health or social care worker
  • Experiencing homelessness, including rough sleepers and those using homeless hostels or night shelters

Who Is Eligible for a COVID-19 Vaccination?

You may be eligible for an autumn COVID-19 vaccination if you:

  • Are aged 75 years or over (including those who turn 75 by 31 January 2027)
  • Live in a care home for older adults
  • Are aged 6 months or over and have a weakened immune system due to a health condition or treatment

Examples of conditions or treatments that may affect your immune system include:

  • Blood cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma
  • Organ, bone marrow or stem cell transplants
  • HIV infection
  • Certain genetic disorders affecting the immune system
  • Chemotherapy, radiotherapy or biological therapies
  • Long-term immunosuppressive treatment
  • High-dose steroid treatment

Vaccination remains the best way to reduce your risk of serious illness and hospital admission from flu and COVID-19. We encourage all eligible patients to take up the offer when invited.
