COVID-19 Updates

Posted on August 26th, 2020

We can all help control the virus if we all stay alert. This means you must:

  • stay at home as much as possible
  • ensure your place of work is COVID-19 secure
  • keep your distance if you go out (2 metres apart where possible)
  • wash your hands regularly

Do not leave home if you or someone you live with has any of the following:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

You can visit the NHS website for more information.

If you have symptoms of coronavirus, you’ll need to stay at home for 10 days.

If you live with someone who has symptoms, you’ll need to stay at home for 14 days from the day the first person in the home started having symptoms.

You may now request a test for Coronavirus if you are experiencing symptoms, click here to find out more information.

PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE GP SURGERY IN PERSON UNLESS YOU HAVE A BOOKED APPOINTMENT OR A VERY VALID REASON TO COME IN.

Appointments may only be given after speaking with a clinician.

They will assess your symptoms and health needs and will give advice or book an appointment for you as appropriate.

Information remains subject to regular change and updates. More information can be found on the GOV.uk Coronavirus website .

Exemption Letters for Face Coverings

Please be aware, neither The Surgery, nor the GP’s are able to provide risk assessments or letters for patients who feel they should be exempt from wearing a face mask.

Government advice on the use of face coverings can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-safer-travel-guidance-for-passengers#face-coverings . This contains a list of reasons why someone may be exempt from wearing a face covering.
