 Non COVID appointments at practices

Posted on April 16th, 2020

Although we are not working in quite the same way, you can still get in touch with us about routine concerns or more urgent issues which are nothing to do with coronavirus.

We are trying to avoid all but essential face-to-face contact, so your consultation will be done over the phone or by video, and if you do need to be seen, then the doctor or nurse will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).

If the NHS has asked you to attend an appointment — for anything from a blood test or mammogram to an outpatient appointment with a specialist — please go as normal. NHS hospitals and community services are putting off everything that can wait, so the fact that your appointment is going ahead suggests it is important. The hospital will take every precaution to protect you and the staff, and it will be safer than a trip to the supermarket.

If you are waiting for an appointment because you are being investigated for a serious problem such as cancer, or your chemotherapy has been delayed, please be sure you have not been forgotten. Your tests and treatment will be started as soon as it is safe.
